Members,
Currently, the band blog is undergoing slight technical issues, and most of the graphics are gone. Don't worry, the band blog will be back in a few weeks time, with brand new photos (hopefully) and the newest updates on our current members. There will be a phototaking session somewhat this coming friday band practice, before the majors' NCO camp, for the band blog. I desperately in need of photos, and also, a full band potrait. For the band camp, if there is time, we can take a full group photos, with the band teachers-in-charge too, if only there is time.

Dear members,
It have been a long time since I wrote. A year have passed and the juniors are really growing and they certainly have become a little more mature compared to the day when they first came in. Seniors remember the blur looks on their faces? Haha. A very good job well done for the juniors, your effort have not come to a waste. Let's give a round of applause for all of them. Here comes the bad news. Sad to say, there are some of the juniors who gave up half way. We believe those who are still in the band have strong determination and perseverance to hunger for success. But, don't stop here.

Firstly, let us review on the
discipline of the band. The discipline of the band is generally acceptable but there are rooms for improvement. Here are a list of things that we hope we can improve on.
1. Have the discipline to be present and punctual for all band practice and sectionals.
2. Respect everyone in the band and yourself irregardless of rank and position.
3. During full band, make an effort to have a pencil with us and take down notes. We don't have a photographic memory.
4. Minimum communication during full band will help to make the practice more productive.
5. Really have the discipline to sort out and practice your parts well during sectionals so as to be well prepared for full band so we do not waste a lot of time sorting out parts. This will also make full band more productive and it will not be so boring for the others. This is proven by someone falling asleep during full band recently. We shall not his name.
6. Respect and respond actively to anyone who is giving out instructions or when asked a question during full band.
Secondly, let us review our
drills standard. I know some of you do not like drills. However, take it as a training to build yourself physically and mentally. Our drills must improve a lot more!
1. Take your drills seriously. It is not for fun.
2. Make an effort to shout your timing short, loud and clear. One band, One sound!
3. Check your posture. Look confident and neat during drills.
. Don't need us to remind you every time. You guys have the ability to do it yourself!
Thirdly, let us review on our
music standard. We need to know that we must make an effort to practice a lot more. We have a long way to go. What are we aiming to get for SYF? Gold with honours? Gold? Silver? Bronze? As Mr. Ng said, the colour of the medal does not really matter. It is you. Have you broke thorough your limit? If others can, so can you, everyone of you can do it.
1. Everyone in the band must make an effort to practice hard for SYF next year
2. Those who are good in their music playing must help the others who are weak. Spent time teaching them. A band is as strong as it's weakest player!
3. Have passion when you play music. Don't just play it for fun. Enjoy every moment playing on your instrument. You do not get to play it everyday!
If some of you have realised, there are 5Ps which are emphasize strongly in this post.
1.
PRESENT
2.
PUNCTUAL
3.
PENCIL
4.
PRACTICE5.
PASSION We hope we can keep this five things in mind, make it a habit and apply it. The Majors also hope we can punished less people from today onwards. Seriously, we do not like to punish people. Everyone please don't commit an offences towards SYF. Deal or no deal? Haha! TeckWhyeConcertBand. UNIQUE AND VERSATILE!!
