Teck Whye Concert Band was officially formed in 2003 after departing from a long illustrious history of a marching band tradition.
The band motto, Unique and Versatile, propels the band from the fields to the concert stage with an intrepid spirit for excellence in performance.
Under the direction of Mr. Tan Beng Wee, the concert band at its infancy, remarkably achieved a bronze medal in the 2005 Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Central Judging of Concert Bands.
The current membership stands at sixty, and together with the Teck Whye Alumni Band, we aspire to be the ultimate platform for character development of our students and aesthetic expression through music.

Many designs have been submitted and a best design has been chosen and yet to be approved.

On Friday, all sections will receive a form regarding to band tee. The form is basically about the names to appear on the tee. The design will be printed and shown on Friday too. The form should be in by Friday after fall out, as I need time to collate the data and contact the vendor with regards to the quantity.
Secondly, this design will be printed. The design is impossible to embroider as it will takes up time and may cause highly due to the number of stitches used during the process.
Thirdly, I have contacted about 5-6 vendors with regards to the printing of the band tee. I am currently looking out for the cheapest yet highest quality vendor to do it. Remember, no subsidy will be given and members have to pay the full cost.
Fourthly, the payment issue will be discussed with the teachers. Temporarily not yet confirmed, members will have to pay about 40% upfront as deposit and the remaining 60% can be paid by installment on a weekly basis or one shot. This has yet to be confirmed.
Lastly, the band tee is COMPULSORY for all Sec 1 - 3 members. The band tee provides a sense of identity to each and everyone of you. Also, the band tee can be used to substitute the band uniform in non-formal performances, like the CCA Fair and stuffs like that. I'm sure that you don't like to wear the band uniform with/without the blazer on for every performance.

Dear members,
Please be reminded that there will be no morning duty on Tuesday, 20
Th May.
Apparently, we have only about or even less than six weeks left to our band investiture. The pieces we are playing are quite tough to handle for some of us. Therefore, please find a time and gather all your
section mates to sort out parts and work on it. I am sure we have learn some skills on conducting sectionals after watching the video. Please apply what you have learnt into the music and treat it seriously, all the players in the section has a part to play. Remember, the band is as strong as it's weakest player! I will try to open the band room on Monday, early on Friday, and Saturday.(Tentative) So please arrange with your
section mates, I will let you guys know the time slots soon.. Thanks.
