Congratz, the investiture and CCK evening performance has just ended.

I did not have time to talk to the band as there is not enough time so I shall have it here. I am here also because I would like to give the Band Blog a CPR as she is dying soon. Here it goes. To me, the band had generally learned a lot today. I shall talk about them before I forgot about them. Therefore, let's go item by item, firstly, I would like all of you to give the whole investiture committee a big round of applause again. Although it did not run really very smooth, in terms in music and the event itself, but I really saw the effort in the thinking process and planning. Nobody is perfect, all of us, including your seniors, do learn from mistakes and experience. But one should keep on improving him or herself. I would not warrant myself to talk the music today during the investiture, I would leave it to the other seniors to talk about it.

Let's talk about the CCK evening performance. I would classify this performance a very special & new one that we (the teachers, majors & everyone) had come across. As all previous performance(i suppose) do not require us to set the chairs in the middle of the whole event(as in the event we are performing for). But we did not really take a long time(looking at the above which is a very special and new type of performance), I really appreciate the co-operation everyone gave, in order to get everything done fast(as it is not very good to let the audience wait for a long time). Music wise, I believe that it was better than the investiture.

As the proverb goes, "It is no point crying over a spilled milk." I hope that all of you would review the negative things, make changes so that it would not happen again & after reviewing them put them behind and move forward as a band. The Sec 4s had stepped down officially today we are no longer coming back as "sec 4s" but "alumni" (not counting the sec 5s who are coming back) but I believe that the sec 4s would come back to help in advising on how the running of the band should be.I shall end my speech here. Please remember yan you's birthday bash on Monday.

Delon (CF, DHP)

P.S. If the above words offended anyone I would sincerely apologise to you. I am sorry.

SYF 2009: BRONZE!

Hey! We did great today. It was our best performance ever. The sensation after playing the last note. We felt it. We knew in our heart that we did our best. The moments we spent really taking pictures together as a section, as a band after the performance was terrific. When I saw the bonding between us, I am touched. The smiles on your faces, the laughter, the tears...

We had really put in lots and lots of hard work, perseverance, determination towards the performance. The band had grew a lot. The music standard of the band, the drills, the attitude have improve tremendously. The road was never easy for each and everyone of us. There were lots of ups and down, problems, difficulties for us to overcome. We came back during the holidays for optional sectional during the block leave, remember? Did we slack? NO! So do not broad over the results. Bronze so what? The medal is not important! Fair and unfair? It is not important! Look back and see where are we right now... No regrets!

As I mentioned before, "Success is never final, failure is never fatal. It's the courage that counts!" Don't get stuck to this result! It doesn't reflect anything! IT DOESN"T! In my heart, our band is always the best! SYF 2011, what do you guys want to aim for? If you guys are not happy with the results, work super hard from now on! The current sec 2 will be the pioneer badge in 2011. Aim for GOLD WITH HONOURS in SYF 2011!

Preparation for 2011 SYF starts now! If we want to succeed, a lot of effort and hardwork is needed. Seniors, do your best! Never forget your target!

Sec 1s are coming in next week. Teach them efficiently and well. Let them understand our target too. The standard of the band must keep on improving and improving. Never ever think of slacking, even for a moment. Treasure the time and opportunity in band. Do everything at your best!

There will be no morning duty on Monday. Band resume next Wednesday. Have a good rest and start planning and preparing for sec 1 training. JIAYOU teckwhyeconcertband!!!!!!!
